On Sunday 10th September Emmanuel Church held a civic service of celebration in its new premises to which a number of representatives from town and county and indeed country, were welcomed.
In addition to the above esteemed visitors, we welcomed some of our ward councillors, members of the civic list including Freemen and Aldermen of Eastbourne and the new Head Teacher of The Haven School.
It was a joy to welcome and to blend church and town, the ecclesiastical and the civic, Emmanuel and Eastbourne. May Emmanuel always be a church which is deeply attuned to the needs of our town, and deeply responsive to them too.
