We are delighted to announce that Emmanuel is now registered with the Fairtrade Foundation as a Fairtrade Church. There are lots of ways to support Fairtrade, but just two core requirements to be awarded Fairtrade Place of Worship status.
- Use Fairtrade products wherever possible (at least tea, coffee and sugar) and share information about Fairtrade products with the wider congregation.
- Integrate Fairtrade into the life of your place of worship, at Fairtrade Fortnight or other times of the year. For example through events, stalls and worship. Being registered as a Fairtrade Church is also part of our Eco Church endeavours.
All the teas, coffees, sugar and hot chocolate served at Emmanuel are supplied by the Kingdom Coffee Co. Information about its sources, roasting methods, production and processing methods, buying and logistics is available at kingdomcoffee.co.uk
Buying Fairtrade is easy. There are over 6,000 Fairtrade products from coffee and tea to flowers and bananas, so when you shop, look for the FAIRTRADE Mark. Please speak to Maggie Stirmey if you would like to know more.
