QEII Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

In the run up to the Platinum Jubilee weekend, Emmanuel Church members decorated the outside railings with homemade bunting, while the cross was decorated with a colourful array of hand crafted red, white and blue flowers. The inside of the church was decorated with a beautiful selection of Royal Jubilee themed flower arrangements and the Little Wrens Toddler Group created some huge colourful Jubilee collage posters.

On the Friday morning of the Platinum Jubilee weekend, the Messy Church team hosted a busy Jubilee party especially for younger ones with party games, crafts and food. While on Saturday, church members prepared a traditional Cream Tea, with an amazing selection of cakes and home baked scones and many brought commemorative items to reminisce over the Queen’s remarkable reign. The celebrations came to an end on Sunday morning as Gillian Wood led us in an inspiring worship service celebrating the Feast of Pentecost and thanksgiving for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.
